The Bedrooms

There are five en-suite bedrooms, which can sleep one, two, three or four people with double or single beds as required. As a "chambres d'hotes", the house can sleep a maximum of 15 people.
Each room is equipped with tea and coffee-making facilities, pool towels, hair-dryer and toiletries.
Our Pla d'Adet bedroom has balconies running around two sides, a view of the swimming pool and terrace, a dressing-room and spa bath.
Luz Ardiden also has a balcony with table and chairs and a view of the pool and terrace area.
The Tourmalet bedroom has a kitchenette and views across the beautiful foothills.
Together with the Col d'Aspin bedroom, these two rooms can be used as a family suite as they are back to back in the very oldest part of the house.
Lastly is our Hautcam bedroom on the ground floor, which again has views across the foothills and a kitchenette.
All the rooms can have a cot or extra bed added at no additional cost.

Communal Rooms

Parts of the house date back to the 16th century and all of it has been fully renovated over the past 11 years. We can cater for you in individual rooms as a chambres d'hotes or you can hire out all of the rooms as a gite.
As a converted farmhouse, there is plenty of communal space inside as well as out.
There is a large living room with fireplace, piano, sofas and chairs, a television with free-sat channels, DVD player and views across the garden and terraced area.
If staying in the chambres d'hotes, the dining room is where you will have breakfast, and dinners if you so choose. It also has a stock of chocolate bars, soft-drinks, beers, wine, energy products and bike spares for you to buy. For self-catering purposes there is a kitchen area with fridge-freezer, oven, kettle, toaster and all that you will need to be self-sufficient. There is a high-chair available for babies and toddlers.
There is a small gym with all the usual machines - an exercise bike, running machine, weights bench, punch bag, rowing machine, steppers etc. In the winter, or in bad weather, it is also used as a base for turbo-training or roller sessions.
Upstairs there is a games room with a pool table, darts, table football, wii, plus various board games and books & DVDs for you to borrow.
Also at your disposal, but in the private area of the house, is a drying room where any wet gear can be hung to dry out. We also provide a laundry service.

The Garden

The garden has a swimming pool and play equipment. There is a large lawn for ball games and plenty of trees to climb or hide behind. There is a large terrace area in the sun with tables and chairs plus a covered eating area for hotter days. Here you will also find the barbecues and the table-tennis table.
There are many fruit trees in the grounds too - depending on the time of year, you will see pears, cherries, plums, walnuts, figs and peaches.
The sun terrace, accessible from the spiral staircase, is brilliant for sun-worshippers as you can catch the rays all day long.

For animal lovers, you will no doubt see our two cats, Ruby and Tawny; a three-legged Pointer, Milka; and his younger side-kick, Mars; cockerels & chickens, that we keep for eggs; and a Shetland pony called Spirit. The donkey in the field opposite the house is called Hamish.

Catered or self-catered?

For catered guests, breakfast is self-service in the dining room and consists of croissants or muffins, bread, cereals, fruit and yoghurts plus hot drinks and fruit juices. Other options, such as porridge, are available on request. Packed lunches or a sandwich or panini at the house are available each day.
Evening meals are offered on most nights of the week. The menu is displayed in the dining room each morning so, if you wish, you have the flexibility to decide on a day-to-day basis if you wish to eat with us. The meals are all home-cooked and the portions are designed with hungry cyclists in mind. If you have any special dietary requirements at all, just let us know beforehand.

"...the highlight of my day was reading the day's menu in the morning, looking forward to it all day and then, of course, eating it!" J.E., Cambridge, UK

If you are staying for a self-catering, gite holiday you still have the option to take advantage of our catering if you want to - there are various options for hot or cold buffets plus the usual evening meals, lunches or breakfasts if you need them.

For all guests, there is a boulangerie, delicatessen, small grocery shop, bar and restaurant - all within walking distance. A short drive away you can find supermarkets and a wider range of shops plus local markets on most days of the week.
